Hate Mail from the 3rd Grade

Yes, you read that right. Various letters of discontent have been sent in to Neil deGrasse Tyson of the Hayden Planetarium in New York, NY in regards to his museum’s decision to exclude Pluto from the list of planets in our solar system.
Like so…

I have no idea who to credit for this, but whoever you are, good job. I love it!

A bit dated, since this [officially] happened on August 24th, 2006. But amusing nonetheless. Over the course of the 21st century, this planetary segregation has children up in arms, avidly concerned about the people who will now be life without a favourite planet! Clearly the phrase “Think of the Children” never occurred to Neil during his decision making process. The general consensus among 7 & 8 year olds seems to be that Pluto is a planet; Not, in fact, a Kuiper Belt Object as now defined by Neil and his associates. “I do not like your anser!!! Pluto is my faveret planet!!! You are going ot have to take all of the books away and change them. Pluto IS A PLANET!!!!!!”, states a vehement Emerson York.

Neil has written a book, The Pluto Files in which the letters have been published. And you can find the rest of the preview on Nova’s site here.

It’s okay Pluto, I’m not a planet either…. :(
