Human (eating polar bears) Planet

BBC’s new documentary series, Human Planet, is a beautiful series that showcases the intellect, resourcefulness, and purity of our species on this planet. Unfortunately we all know that is just a small percentile of the otherwise mentally diluted masses that populate Earth. Even one instance still did not escape the camera in episode 3 (The Arctic).

In Churchill, Manitoba, an area notorious for no one ever hearing about it, being constantly and miserably cold, and being shared with human hunting polar bears, one bear was spotted lurking about on the outskirts of town halloween night. I assume this is somewhat of a normal occurance and that life just carries on as normal (or something), with a little extra vigilence of surroundings.

What dumbfounded me to an extent was the scene where a mother was out trick-or-treating with her four children (clearly not much else to do but reproduce) in the dark. This would never be an issue except for her having dressed one of her children up as a lamb……

And, to my knowledge, when it’s said that a polar bear will hunt, kill & eat humans, I don’t think that they’re implying that the bear has also forgone it’s desire to hunt easier and more natural prey… such as a baby lamb or other various prey that it happens across.

It’s also a little known fact that polar bears absolutely hate children, and will look for any excuse to rid one from this plain of existence, all the while enjoying their soft, supple flesh (much like that of veal, so it’s been said). Maybe there is some sort of insurance policy in Churchill that when a polar bear mauls and eats your child you get a hefty pay out. Probably the only way you’d be able to move out of the godforsaken equivalent of Hoth in our solar system.

Humans eat polar bears. Many people in the arctic do. As well, many humans use their furs for coats and other uses. Polar bears are mainly meat eaters, and their favorite food is seal. They will also eat walrus, caribou, beached whales, grass, and seaweed. Polar bears are patient hunters, staying motionless for hours above a seal’s breathing hole in the ice, just waiting for a seal to pop up. Humans can harm polar bears and polar bears can harm people.
