Rebecca Black: The worst song in the world

Posted: March 31st, 2011 | Author: | Filed under: Music | No Comments »

So I finally got around to watching this heinous video and I feel that I can safely say that there has never been a bigger abomination of music that has made me want to slit my own wrists in a sad bath full of vodka than this.

Critics calling her lyrics “over-simplified” is beyond an understatment. I can guarantee that if I were to take a hyena, and shove a chainsaw up it’s ass, it would make noises that are far more appealing than this eardrum assult being passed off as music. 13 year olds should be grounded, not allowed to make shitty music videos to inflict aural and visual pain on the rest of the world..

Halftime Hell

I wont even bother to trying to formulate a coherent sentence on my opinion of the halftime show other than saying that after the horrific performace by Black Eyed Peas I believe that my IQ has been permanently reduced to half it’s normal capacity… take that as you will. Instead, I find it much more better to let the posts from twitter express the opinions of the masses.

Calibre – Even If…

Posted: December 24th, 2010 | Author: | Filed under: Music | No Comments »

One of my new favourite albums is by pioneering Drum & Bass artist Calibre (yes, Myspace sucks now, I know. Deal with it. No one has proper sites anymore.). Definitely not an album to sleep on by any means. Ranging from smooth liquid dnb to the more minimal side of dubstep, this album is soulful, well produced, and seemlessly put together. Two of my favourite tracks being “Even If” & “Open You Eyes” (see below). Pick it up either on iTunes or beatport now.

DJ Pump – Golden Era

I’m constantly on the hunt for new music, but more often than not I find myself coming back to this mix. Golden Era; a 2 disc mix tape by DJ Pump have been on a steady rotation in my iTunes library for the past 8 months.

Around 100 tracks of pure hip-hop goodness to get down to.I suggest you do it, you won’t be sorry. It will make your life a lot better, and probably even increase your chances of getting laid by making you look like you’ve got some type of street cred. Everything from KRS -One, to black sheep, to Das FX, to Naughty by Nature and literally every fucking thing in between.

Trifonic – Parks on Fire

This is probably one of my favourite songs at the moment, by SF based group Trifonic. The whole album, titled Emergence, is absolutely phenomenal, as is this music video. I highly recommend that you check these guys out immediately. Plus, they have free tunes on their site for download.

This is awesome on a lot of levels. The production on the video is very cool as well.
